Professional Bio of Jennifer Hope

Jennifer Hope is an actress, singer, and all-around entertainer with over three decades of experience performing around the United States and internationally. Since beginning her career at the age of 16, Jennifer has been seen by over half a million people in 43 states around the United States, and on 5 continents.

While she was still in high school, Jennifer was chosen to perform as a soloist with Luciano Pavarotti at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Thinking this meant she was destined for a career in opera, she packed her bags and headed to the Mason Gross School of the Arts Conservatory at Rutgers University. Four years later, having performed with Jessye Norman and Jason Robards, sung in several internationally acclaimed choirs, and been a professional soloist around the world, Jennifer was more convinced than ever that what she really wanted to do was musical theatre.

She quickly found herself at home travelling around the country in a small van and performing to stadiums full of children, where after performances she was able to greet the families and meet people from all over the United States and Canada. A few years later, Jennifer said bon voyage to land life and found her sea legs performing as the Celebrity Singer on the M/V Horizon at sea. Very shortly thereafter, she was approached by the entertainment director to expand her success into a headline show for the cruise line, which she performed weekly for years.

The new millennium found Jennifer returning to land, where she began to play a series of well-known parts (including Aldonza in "Man of La Mancha", Nettie in "Carousel", Dorothy Brock in "42nd Street", Miss Hannigan in "Annie" and the voice coach Phoebe Dinsmore in "Singin’ in the Rain", the wettest show Jennifer has done to date).

A brief hiatus in between shows allowed Jennifer to take a few private students under her wing. When she began hearing that they were discovered and sent packing on national tours, she suddenly found herself in demand for her talents as an audition coach and private voice teacher and career consultant.

Jennifer has been called “… a major talent”, “…a performer who combines the best of Barbra Streisand’s pep with Bette Midler’s bawdiness”, and “a woman with… a lustrous singing voice. (Hope) even knows how to whistle.”
